Position Overview
EPOA seeks an inspiring string coach who is responsible for coaching and conducting string ensembles to students from age 5 and above as well as teaching individual classes. He/she will assist the staff of the Academy in the improvement and appreciation of music programmes which the Academy designed. The string coach helps students grow in their enjoyment, appreciation, and performance of music through a variety of planned music programmes and methods which include conducting, singing, moving to music, playing of instruments, etc.
Reports To
Reports to the Principal of EPOA.
Responsibilities and Duties

To coach ongoing weekly group strings programmes consists of up to 15 players per group.

To teach individual lessons.

Attend Academy meetings

To conduct concerts of various groups or ensembles or orchestras.

Assess, monitor, and document students’ learning progress.

Involve in performing and helping to organize EPOA concerts and activities

Maintain and delivering safe and positive learning environment for students and being their role model.
Qualifications & Experience
-
Minimum Diploma in music.

Minimum of 2 years teaching experience.

Must have a background in playing string instruments, with an emphasis on violin.

Experience in teaching beginning violin students.

Excellent oral skills in English and Bahasa.
Skills and Knowledge required

Well-organized, deadline-oriented, with exceptional attention to details and follow-through.

Must be self-driven, energetic, resourceful, creative and possess strong passion to teach in different age groups.

Strong organizational skills.

Effective communication skills & collaborative nature.

Knowledgeable in simple music arrangement (optional).
-
Knowledge of string pedagogy and repertoire (optional).

Knowledgeable in music software such as Finale, Sibelius, Musescore, etc. (optional).
Abilities required

Enthusiasm in learning. Willing to participate in personnel development programmes.

Ability to communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and parents.

Ability to collaborate with music teacher and staff on curriculum and performances.

Confident in leading a classroom of students.

Passionate in working with all age groups including children as young as age 5.

Possess own transport and willing to travel within Klang valley.

Ability to adapt and work as a team.

Willing to adapt teaching style to programmes’ needs
