Earning himself a distinguished name worldwide on both the opera and concert podiums, Matthias Manasi is one of the outstanding conductors of his generation. In 2017 he became music director and chief conductor of the Nickel City Opera Buffalo in Buffalo (NY, USA).

​Matthias Manasi has been a guest at the Polish National Opera in Warsaw, the Staatstheater Kassel, the Staatstheater Braunschweig, the Leipzig Opera, the Opera Poznań, the Theater Bremen, the Oper Halle, the Astana Opera and the State Opera Rousse. Concert engagements have taken him to the Münchner Rundfunkorchester, the Orquestra Sinfônica do Teatro Nacional Claudio Santoro, the SWR Symphonieorchester, the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orquestra Filarmonia das Beiras, the National Radio Orchestra of Romania, the Kazakh State Philharmonic Orchestra, the Mecklenburgische Staatskapelle Schwerin, the Liepaja Symphony Orchestra, the Niedersächsisches Staatsorchester Hannover, the Southern Arizona Symphony Orchestra and the Vienna Mozart Orchestra at the Musikverein in Vienna.

In 2016/2017 he was a conductor at the Opera Poznań, and from 2013 to 2015 conductor at the Opera Wroclawska. He was music director of the International PuntaClassic with the Montevideo Philharmonic Orchestra from 2010 to 2013. In 2006, the Bayerischer Rundfunk engaged him for the project “Klasse Klassik” with the Münchner Rundfunkorchester. After engagements as conductor (Kapellmeister) at the Kiel Opera and Oldenburgisches Staatstheater, Manasi became in 2000 chief conductor and artistic director of the Orchestra Camerata Italiana.

During his studies he started to work at age 19 as a repetiteur and assistant conductor at the Staatstheater Stuttgart.
Matthias Manasi studied conducting at the Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts with Thomas Ungar and piano with Andrzej Ratusiński. He also studied piano at the Karlsruhe University of Music with Carmen Piazzini.
