SSO strongly believes in the value and power of music to inspire the community and serve as a catalyst for the growth and development of local music scene. While our primary focus is musical performance, our desire is also to provide diverse orchestral experiences that build and support the appreciation of music for our community. Currently there are four programmes we are delivering:
SSO IN SCHOOLS
Members of the Selangor Symphony Orchestra visit schools regularly offering educational and engaging musical presentations for school children. This is to cultivate the next generation of classical concert goers by educating them to understand and appreciate orchestral music.
Open Rehearsal is a fascinating opportunity to watch the Selangor Symphony Orchestra at work, and see how a piece of music is shaped and polished by the conductor and the musicians.
Apply Now for violin beginners! An exclusive programme by Yayasan Raja Muda Selangor and Selangor Symphony Orchestra for underprivileged children. Come join SCREAM (Selangor Creative Arts Movement) for an exclusive programme offered by the Selangor Symphony Orchestra and Yayasan Raja Muda Selangor of a certified 2-year violin programme for underprivileged children who live in Klang Valley, Selangor.
In this programme, students will learn to play the violin in a small group setting, creating a place for them to be mentored and to share their love of music. All lessons will take place in Subang Jaya, Selangor. During the programme, examination and certificate will be offered by Trinity College London.
