Symphony Under The Stars! The SSO is back with two FREE outdoor performances for the public on a floating stage at Elmina Lakeside Mall from August 30th to 31st two evening concerts.
Experience a spectacular evening of music and cultural unity, featuring selected musicians from the Selangor Symphony Orchestra, Orkestra Kuala Lumpur, and the Daegu International Symphony Orchestra (South Korea) — joined by guest artists from Singapore, Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Thailand.
This one-night-only gala celebrates the 65th anniversary of Korea–Malaysia diplomatic relations and 2025 Malaysia's ASEAN Chairmanship with uplifting classical works and beloved regional favourites performed by a distinguished international orchestra — all on one stage.

When the virtuosity of the soloist meets the magnificent force of an orchestra, the concert stage truly comes alive. In November 2022, the Selangor Symphony Orchestra celebrates the concerto, featuring Matthew Marshall, a guitar soloist of stellar international repute, as well as bringing to the limelight one of Malaysia’s bright new talents, young award-winning violinist Hannah Lee, concert to be conducted by maestro Dr. Andrew Filmer.

The first-of-its-kind 3-day ‘Sensurround’ outdoor performance was held on 27-29 October 2022 at The Haven Resort drew serenity and joy to the audiences. The event was performed by the 40-piece Selangor Symphony Orchestra. It was a first-of-its-kind performance, emanating from the floating stage in the lake, with the virgin forest as backdrop and audiences seated in the garden by the lake, the amphitheatre and in the comfort of the balconies of their accommodation units. Musicians were deployed at the forest’s edge around the lake and in the units of the 3 high-rise buildings to produce a sensurround effect for the audience. Kudos to all featured artistes, musicians, and production team behind this milestone event!

The Soundtracks of Film Classics Come to Life! Come to have the chance to relive the magic of the film themes with the 60-piece Selangor Symphony Orchestra, a live orchestral led by its own music director and conductor Eugene Pook. Come and revisit your favourite film themes in the most spectacular way, a family-friendly concert that cannot be missed! Featuring guest performing group the Selangor Symphony Youth Orchestra performing side-by-side with the SSO, special guest Issac Chan, winner of the SSO Concerto Competition, award-winning singer Wendy Woo and young singers of the Estee Pook Academy.

A unique orchestral concert experience as St. Joseph's Institution International School Malaysia (SJIIM) combine with members of the Selangor Symphony Youth Orchestra under conductor Eugene Pook.
This concert is the culmination of a 4-day workshop to inspire SJIIM students with engaging ensemble activities which focus on ensemble playing techniques. All participants will have been coached by members of Selangor Symphony Orchestra as well as CCA coaches of the SJIIM in a series of rehearsals and sectionals.

In its return to the stage, the Selangor Symphony Orchestra celebrates the close of the year with two festive selections: Tchaikovsky’s immortal tale of a heroic Nutcracker, and a more modern take of The Nightmare Before Christmas. This programme celebrates the SSO’s commitment to celebrating music both old and new. Under the baton of sterling maestro Kevin Field, with narrators Dr Andrew Filmer and Vale V Wong, we weave tales of Christmas, while welcoming warmer times ahead with the beauty of teamwork and diversity that the magical music of an orchestra celebrates.🎶

“Wish Upon A Star” is in honour of the 71st birthday of HRH Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, Sultan Of Selangor. Concert is also in aid of Make-A-Wish Malaysia as 50% proceeds from ticket sales will go to Make-A-Wish Malaysia. Programme includes popular classical arias, polkas and symphonic excerpts as well as memorable Broadway melodies and songs performed by the 65-piece Selangor Symphony Orchestra with well-known Malaysian soprano Cecilia Yap and International Musical Theatre Artiste, Carla Guevara Laforteza. A special event will be held at Dewan Jubli Perak, Bangunan SUK Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia. This event is an inaugural concert organized by the newly established orchestra called the Selangor Symphony Orchestra (SSO) under the baton of Maestro Eugene Pook.
The world renowned violin soloist Zhang Le (张乐) will be presenting Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto on that night. SSO will also play Verdi’s Triumphal March from “AIDA” and Tchaikovsky Symphony No.5.
