Dr Hyungi Kim

Violinist Dr Hyungi Kim is an accomplished soloist and chamber musician with an active international career. She has performed at major festivals including Naantali (Finland), Kronberg (Germany), Beethoven Festival (Poland), and the Shanghai Summer Music Festival (MISA), as well as in the United States, China, Russia, and Korea.

As a soloist, she has collaborated with orchestras such as the Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic, Craiova Philharmonic Orchestra, Shanghai Baroque Chamber Orchestra, and the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra. Her performance of Bartók’s Violin Concerto No. 2 in 2009 received critical acclaim at the Seoul Arts Center.

Dr Hyungi Kim is currently Assistant Professor at Georgia Central University and serves as Concertmaster of the United Philharmonic Orchestra, Selangor Symphony Orchestra, and Tutan Festival Orchestra. She is also the founder of the Music4 Good Foundation and performs on a violin by Carlo Antonio Testore (c.1760).

Dr Hyungi Kim studied at Seoul National University and the Eastman School of Music under Oleh Krysa, a pupil of David Oistrakh.
